For teachers and schools wishing to witness the metamorphosis from larva to butterfly before summer break, it is important to note that it can take up to 3 to 4 weeks.  Week 1 of shipping commences May 19th, 2026.  We recommend schools purchase at least 3 weeks before the end of the school year.

Each order consists of a cup of 3-5 caterpillars (larvae).  While we strive to provide you with the best possible experience in observing the butterfly life cycle, please note that nature can be unpredictable. Casualties may occur during the process, and we cannot guarantee that all caterpillars will complete the full life cycle. However, we are committed to supporting you in creating a meaningful and educational experience.
